Ray Tracer

"PHOTON by NMP" is a physical ray tracing code in Python with a browser frontend, made for researchers. It was developed in Matlab while I was writing my doctor thesis and got parsed into Python afterwards. This code is not meant for game engines or a huge amount of rays, rather a precise calculation of rays passing multiple optical elements like lenses, mirrors, filters etc. with correct time delay and phase shifts. It is kinda plug and play and designed to be easily understandable (given you know what a photon is and what the defining parameters of an electromagnetic wave are). A documentation and tutorial is underway (if you get reflections with 0 intensity, check if your E-field is perpendicular to k, thats the most common mistake).

The code currently lives on GitHub:
